Goal
Evaluate and migrate the manually deployed MIME and Guix channel configuration to native Guix Home services where doing so removes duplication without weakening channel authentication.
Scope
MIME applications
Replace the tracked
~/.config/mimeapps.listwithhome-xdg-mime-applications-service-typeandhome-xdg-mime-applications-configuration, preserving:Guix channels
Refactor the authenticated channel definitions so the same Scheme data can be consumed by:
guix time-machine -C;home-channels-service-typefor~/.config/guix/channels.scm;~/.config/guix/trusted-channels.scm.Avoid maintaining two independent lists or allowing
%default-channelsto override the explicitly pinned/authenticated Guix channel.Acceptance checks
mimeapps.listis behaviorally equivalent to the current file.xdg-mime query defaultreturns the expected applications for representative MIME types and URL schemes.guix pull --dry-runauthenticates every configured channel without trust warnings.guix time-machine -Ccontinues to work from a fresh shell.Imported from GitHub issue/PR.
