Candidate

  • Upstream canonical URL: https://github.com/uprun/Lyspen
  • Source pinned commit/release when known: default-branch HEAD 085d7c6fffa53661c420c69ee7e734dea165893e (checked 2026-08-14)
  • Target concrete installed deliverable: the Lyspen structured-editor application
  • Primary category: editor-extension
  • Tags: text-editor
  • Primary language normalized: JavaScript
  • Build system: unknown (no package manifest in current tree)
  • SPDX expression: MIT
  • License status: confirmed-free
  • License evidence: Inspected the upstream license text at this pinned commit; GitHub identifies it as MIT (MIT License). No GPL only-or-later term is inferred beyond the upstream evidence.
  • Difficulty: hard — The current tree has no package manifest, so a reproducible build path is not yet identified.
  • Workflow state: research
  • Existing Guix coverage: Checked 2026-08-14: GNU Guix, Nonguix, Guix Science, Guix HPC, Guix Past, Guix 'R Us, and RDE; no equivalent package with the same upstream origin was found.

Scope and blockers

Package only after its current build/install workflow is established from upstream.

Acceptance checks

  • guix lint -L . lyspen
  • guix build -L . lyspen
  • after establishing the build, launch the editor against a temporary local workspace.

uprun/Lyspen at fixed revision 085d7c6fffa53661c420c69ee7e734dea165893e (tree eebde74d74f4fc9eb6b46a7b6e52e7e33b3ff92b) is not implementation-ready. The local channel contains only uprun-lyspen-source in guix/tay/packages/starred-s-z.scm lines 325-329, not a lyspen package or an equivalent installed deliverable, and the revision has no Git submodules. Its root LICENSE is the complete MIT text with copyright 2021 Kryvonos Oleksandr, granting use, copying, modification, distribution, and sublicense; the project is therefore source-redistributable. Contrary to the issue's 'no package manifest' premise, lisperanto.csproj declares Microsoft.NET.Sdk.Web and TargetFramework net6.0, with PackageReference knockoutjs 3.5.1; Program.cs and Startup.cs establish an ASP.NET Core web server whose views use current working directories docs, customObjects, operations, and js/lisperanto. Exact blocker: Guix's current documented build systems provide no .NET/dotnet build system, and the repository supplies no lockfile or Guix-compatible manifest for the ASP.NET Core SDK/runtime plus its knockoutjs npm-derived package dependency. Until an authoritative Guix-compatible source-build workflow establishes those SDK, runtime, and dependency inputs and a deterministic packaged launch, unattended guix build/lint and runtime delivery cannot be safely specified. Unblock by adding or identifying a complete .NET build toolchain/dependency closure in the reviewed channel and documenting the exact packaged executable and workspace launch contract. Guix daemon-backed feasibility/build evidence was unavailable in this research environment by host boundary.
